A dude who knows
Nothing like Mt Washington and their lies about snow. You know how bad the resort management is when you have people working for the mountain coming on here and telling people it is great. Another and I know that the place where the snow pack depth is measured is not an accurate representation of what is on the mountain. But everyone who could see the dirt through the snow already figured that out. [note from the editor : names of individuals not included in reviews.]

To another reviewer: Just to let you know the "80cm" is a mid mt measurement taken each day, twice a day, as per the Canadian Avalanche Association standards. The measurement is updated in the morning via the patrol with a estimate from our lower plot at 6:00 and a actual measurement at approx 7:00. If you would like to see how this is done feel free to come and talk to me at ski patrol Sun-Mon and ask for Bill. Thanks. Bill Phipps Mt Washington forecaster.

Word to the snow farmers. I want to thank the grooming crew for keeping the mountain open. Must be a challenging job.

Sun lover
I've been up enjoying the fantastic spring skiing conditions for the couple of weeks they have been open this January. The grooming and terrain park staff have been doing amazing work keeping some runs covered for us to enjoy. The snow and the sun have been great. Anyone complaining about a few rocks or bare patches just needs to try harder to avoid them.

I love this mountain and I've been coming here for years. Seasons passes for the whole family. No snow is no one's fault. Spent two weeks in a condo staring out the window. Sad Christmas but the staff bent over backwards keeping it upbeat. Smiles on their faces but desperation on the other side. Have a little sympathy for them; jobs lost and in jeopardy, stress is everywhere the snow isn't. Relax, chill, connect and ground, the snow will fall again.

Yes, the people on here saying they need to make a clean sweep are being a bit brash. But telling your loyal customers that there is still 80cm base just to bring revenue up the mountain is just as bad in my mind. I love skiing and I will be in a 12 week course here and on the mountain every single day. One thing I can tell you is that the base is closer to 20-30 cm and 80 is just flat out lying to your customers, that I can see people being mad over as I myself have take two core hits. As someone said before if you're going to post total accumulation say so otherwise stop lying about your base. Spring skiing is what we got right now and anyone with a brain knows with +5-10 temps that base is certainly not 80. Not asking for any cleans sweeps just change it to the real measurements and your clients won't feel cheated once arriving to see dirt and rock.

Well done for opening and doing half day prices. Shame you can't control the weather, but we had another fun day up there. Wish the moaners would stay off this site with unnecessary, impolite and childish digs at the resort. They're doing the best they can with what they've got. They don't get up in the morning with the intention of doing a bad job, ripping anyone off, or generally upsetting the world, so if the moaners could take their personal angst elsewhere and off this site, that'd be most welcome.

Disappointed
Dear 'Mount' Washington, Please stop fibbing in you snow report. It does not take a seventh grader to understand that if the temperature is above zero degrees celsius that precipitation will be rain. Also, most people understand the concept of settlement in snow, i.e. the longer it sits there getting rained on, the thinner it will become. If you want to post total accumulation, by all means. Otherwise, stop gouging your guest with ridiculous prices and banter, lay off all the under-tasked, top-end salary 'management' staff and operate a resort. I am certain people will appreciate the truth. I sure hope someone who is interested in a successful area purchases this sinking ship. Enjoy the free lunch while you can!

Well, snow is starting to fall. Hope things pile up eh.".no snow making see base" ..good one! Thanks for the Whistler option, at least it is an option. I am hoping that some of the quality staff will still be around. I don't think anyone can blame management this time or can we? But still the forecast looks bleak. Big dump in Feb if we can wait. Until it opens be happy and play in the backcountry..common snow! [note from the editor: text edited slightly for sake of relevance.]
