For beginners, Niederau has two excellent nursery slopes in the village centre. But once accomplished, there is nothing else. The runs on the upper slopes are too difficult for those who have just learned, and, apart from one good, long red with a not too difficult black attached, enjoyable runs are limited. Auffach, which is nearby, is a far better bet if you can board or ski to a reasonable standard. The number of drags at Niederau is annoying. Boarders will soon get fed up. The only way round all the runs (apart from one gondola) is by drag!! Tho having said all that, I had a good time. Snow was great for boarding and enjoyed fantastic powder. The red under the gondola harder than the black!! The hotel was friendly and the night life okay. But as I can board, will choose somewhere else next time. Definitily not a resort for Intermediate to advanced.
Excellent resort for beginners, intermediates and children. Ski school instructors are patient and experienced and soon give first timers confidence. Although a small resort there is plenty of nightlife with many bars in the hotels and 2 nightclubs which just don't seem to have a closing time.A variety of hotels mainly run by the owners who will do all they can to ensure your needs are met.
The perfect venue for a family skiing holiday.
