I went to Livigno in Jan 2006. It was my 1st time skiing and really enjoyed it. The only down side is the long transfer from Bergamo. Really nice food and cheap booze. I've booked my next holiday for jJn 2007 and staying in Hotel Zodiac. Just wondering what it is like in the hotel?

I visited Livigno in Jan 2005. I was still learning how to board so can't give a great review of the terrain but it was a blast. Journey only took about 4 hrs in the rental car but we had to stop for a half hour and get snow chains on in a -20degC blizzard. Never a dull moment. My mates and I are looking for a place to go for xmas/new year 2006 and we are thinking Livigno. We are wanting to hire a cabin as there are about 10 of us. Does anyone out there know of any agencies that handle the renting of cabins in Livigno? Thanks.

Hi Keith from Rotherham happy to hear you think the same as me about Livigno. We've already booked for Xmas 06 and will be staying at the Casa Letizia Apartments right next to the Cassana drag lift No30. Hope we do meet up, it will be good for the boyz, maybe we could meet at Xscape Ski Dome in Castleford sometime.

Have skied all over Europe inc Val d'Isere & Verbier and consider Livigno to be the best all round package - great skiing, lovely village atmosphere, such friendly and proud people, food fantastic, top quality facilities and then there's the prices! We have driven there for the last two Xmas - it isn't as far as you might think. Going out there again on April 1st and by the way Steve from Leeds, we will be out there for Xmas 2006, my boys are 10 & 13 but we travel as 3 families each with 2 kids. Might see you there.

Got back last week. The skiing was better the back end of the week due to new snow. Very fast the first few days. Would and will be going back Xmas 2006. Would like to meet other family skiers who like Livigno. I have two boys 14 & 9 both good skiers. Is there anyone out there who would like to meet up and ski?

Livigno is not bad, no queues even at half-term. The main gripe was the distance from the airport and the length of the resort. There is a free bus service but the signage is hopeless (well I couldn't understand it), so trying to find a bar/shop can mean a lot of walking and asking, no fun if you are tired from a long journey. Its easier to buy booze than food, but it is cheap!

Livigno is a fab place to go, it's just such a chew getting there! Long 6hr journey on the coach from the airport. Skiing good due to a large dump the night we arrived. Night life was superb and cheap too! Just watch out, we left our apartments on the last day, only for the rep to get a phone call 4 hours into the coach ride back to the airport to say we'd trashed the place on leaving!! and they wanted money from us. Following arrest at the airport one of our group produced a video of us all leaving, proof we hadn't done a thing! The rep told us this isn't uncommon SO BE WARNED! But apart from that I recommend it.

I have been going to this resort twice a year for the past 8 years. I would not go anywhere else. The people are so friendly, the food is out of this world and the shopping is fantastic. The skiing is great. No long lines at the lifts and the runs are great. The travel to get there is long but it is worth it!! I would recommend the Garden and Echos for great food and drink.

Just come back from Livigno I was there for Xmas 2005 could have done with more snow the winds had blown alot of the snow off the tops on the carosello side mottolino side was in good nick though the run down to trepalle was a bit icey and packed in places. Broke my heart having to pay 6 euros for a bottle of jim beam bourbon.Looking forward to going back in Feb. Another plus jet2 are now flying to Bergamo starting in April just waiting for xmas flights 06.

I stayed in Livigno in 2003 and 2004 and it is a fantastic little resort. Still oozing Italian village charm and the price for booze, clothing, ski equipment and electrical goods is dirt cheap due to the village's tax free status. The skiing is excellent for the intermediete skier who enjoys lovely long, wide red and black runs. Lift queues are non existant and the local restaurants (particularly the Bellavista) offer excellent food at very reasonable prices. Transfer from Bergamo is long, but through some fantastic scenery, so why not sit back, relax and enjoy! All in all highly recommended and I'll definitely be back in the next couple of years or so.
