If you want to spend your day in massive lineups, this is the mountain for you. One hour vehicle lineup to access the park, only to find out all but the furthest parking lots are full— a 15-minute walk to the bottom of the lift and a 45-minute chairlift lineup — mismanaged operation. Season pass holders are not required to book in advance like Whistler, so Cypress is jammed packed.
worst website you could ever imagine [note from editor: do you mean the resort's website or ours?], mountain itself can be good a few days of the season, but way too crowded. massive crowds whenever the conditions are reasonable , spend more time if line ups than skiing or riding
It is very scary if you are concerned about catching COVID-19 as physical distancing is non-existent and there is no enforcement. some people have a very thin layer of cloth coving their face. some don't even bother to cover their mouth al all in the very looong line-ups. I mean looooong as it took 1 hour each run. Some idiots even jump the queue and stands beside you on the line up. Some idiots even go past you in the line with no face covering. I feel like I just got COVID afterwards. I will not go back this year.
Most expensive, worst little downhill run in my life.
Restrictions because of Covid? Didn’t seem like it. All parking lots packed, line-ups on the chairlifts as far as the eye could see. Pre-booked ticket pickup meant 1:15 minutes line up, followed by 50 minutes line up at Eagle Express.
Social distancing not happening.
The cost of a half day for my family of 3, 218 CAD
between 2:00 pm and 5:00pm 1 single run down on Eagle Express.
You would be best advised to stay away. It is an unsafe,
total rip off.
I skied Cypress Bowl the very first day it opened to the public on my 25th birthday. Oh, so many years ago. I've skied over 35 mnts worldwide and keep returning to what is now Cypress Mountain for the simple reason, it's a great mountain with easy access and an acceptable pricing structure.
Starting from the original 2 slow double chairs and one rope tow to all the lifts and terrain available now, no wonder Cypress has become so popular, especially with families. Particularly since Whister/Blackcombe has become so local family unfriendly with their pricing structure. Keep up the good work.
Cypress has been my local mountain for the past three years. Two great snow years followed by one significantly less so. All three have been great fun, however, and plenty enough snow to ride from early December through to mid-April.
The majority of terrain at Cypress is for beginners and intermediates. Good variety also: groomers, glades, cat tracks etc. However, for those looking for big mountain riding - unless the steep stuff has got fresh snow, you'll have to go a bit further afield.
Night riding is brilliant if you're local, as getting in laps after work can really boost the amount of days you get on the hill.
The terrain parks are pretty decent, usually at least one on both peaks. They get refreshed periodically, and the shaping is normally very good.
Highly recommend.
Some really misleading reviews here. No, you don't need an overnight stay. Yes, there are a lot of places to stay nearby - the North Shore has endless accommodation. Yes, there are buses that take you up in the day. At night you can rent evo/car2go or use rideshare groups - people are always offering.
