Tignes is the best place to ski! The pistes are always well groomed and you rarely have to queue - this makes a big difference to the enjoyment of your holiday! Be sure to visit the Alpaka bar in Le lac and just once have a beer (or two) in the Grizzly bar in Val Claret (expensive but an amazing place, lovely ambience). I absolutely love Tignes and have been about 5 or 6 times now and I think it has something for everyone. The snow has always been great and the sun has always been out. Maybe we have just been lucky but I cannot fault the resort. 10 out of 10.

The Christmas week was great. Did a very last minute deal which was impossibly cheap and was looked after really well by our resort team. Fourth time to this area (Tignes) and it is a boarders paradise. Great park and loads of variety. Six days of powder which closed a couple of runs but even then there is plenty to do. You can't get stale here. Unless your loaded get an appartment and eat in. Lunch for two will cost 50 euros if you have anything nice but the restaurants are low grade on the mountains. We ate in every night and that means we can go again this season. Stop in Moutier and stock up at the Lidl. The apres-ski is good and the sushi take away is also worth a go. Get some good goggles as the runs can be high speed and the vis not great. If the ski guides say don't go somewhere then don't go there! Much potential for trouble if you park your common sense at the lift. Overall, just awesome boarding. Going to Tignes again and again.

Great resort Tignes, skied it many times and lift system has improved to the point where it is probably as good as it gets. The Grande Motte run on a good day from top to bottom is exhilarating - except my mate Donall keeps passing me on the last schuss every time we race ! I can strongly recommend Tignes for all levels to my fellow UK skiers - convenience and skiing are top class - cant wait to hit the slopes here again over New Year

Val Claret is superb everything so close at hand, only draw back, it is expensive, and im not a tight arse. Since living in France we now go to the Cental Massif, eg Supper-Besse, Le Mont Dore, Le Lorian. You can go for a week for a third of the cost and eat out every night. We will return though to the three valleys im sure, soon

Went to Tignes Val Claret with the family and stayed at Hotel Diva in April 2009. The hotel and skiing were both fantastic. We have also booked to go back in December 2009 to the same hotel and I am now counting the number of sleeps like my kids do waiting for Xmas. The Spar shop in Tignes Le-Lac is fantastic for a quick bite to eat and resonable prices too. We would rate this resort 9/10.

Yet again I have booked my 2 ski trips in Tignes for the 09/10 season. This resort is simply the best for good skiers, with such a variety of places to ski (not telling you where as that powder is mine). Each year I stay at an apartment in Bollin, Val Claret which is just brilliant for access to the slopes and going back for lunch (especially with Euro prices at the moment). I have now booked for this year so will let you in on the secret: it is tignesapartment.com

Came back from Tignes yesterday and it was amazing. Stayed at the Club Curling Hotel and the food was great. Prices were typical of the Alpes. Snow was great and there were runs for everyone. Will definately be going back.

I love Tignes. Another wicked week in my favourite resort. Snow's normally good, loads of off-piste, lifts are fantastic. Bring it on next year.

What many people don't realise is that the slope and lift system at Tignes is so well thought through that you hardly loose any time getting from one slope to the next. You can get a lot of skiing done even in half a day. Tignes is also the Mecca for off-piste skiing in Europe. I go at least twice every year and always find some powder somewhere but be careful off-piste - go with an expert or guide. I have lived in France and skied most resorts. Tignes is simply the best. I would say so as I love it so much that I bought a nice place (tignes-ski.me.uk). :-)
