I've been skiing in some of the nicest places in Europe but these slopes are just incredible. Just imagine the following (valid from Monday - Friday): You go to Brezovica around 9h, have a good hot tea and then you take the lift. While you go up you will feel you are alone in this world. Slopes are there just for you (and some 20 other skiers, max). Well I can't wait to go back there. No wonder this mountain was a replacement for the downhill during the 1984 Olympics.

What up snow people...I agree with your comments about Brezovica being the best slope in Balkan, thats for sure. Unfortunately it's the poorest as well... but as we all do hope, things will change for good when the mountain will be sold to a private company who will manage and invest on it...but still even without investing yet, I wait all spring summer and autumn just to have some great winter days on the best mountain ever...with love powder your snow freak Buxha...respect 4 all.

Brezovica is one of most beautiful mountains, and I loved to go skiing there. It was never meant to be ski centre as Kopaonik, but heaven for skiers. Good slopes, no big hotels, no crowd …heaven! It used to have good cafes, with great music and places to rest after hard day of skiing. For years Ski federation organized FIS races on these slopes and everything was perfect. People in ski centre were hard working, keeping hotels clean, tidy and safe. Compared to Kopaonik, which is more for fancy, party hardy skiers, this was (and I hope it still is) the place to ski and enjoy. I wish you all good snow and great time

I was twice in Brezovica, in 2005 and in the past season. My experiences: avoid January, the resort is overcrowded with liftlines, especially at weekends. This time, because January is the school holiday there were a lot of kids, families, groups with buses etc. The snow was still good but somewhere windblessed. Snow cover was moderate. Usually hardpacked snow with little powder. In some bowls there was still enough good conditions. Past season, 2006 I was there in March. The snow was really good, with lots of dry powder, kneedeep freshies. No doubt, that March is better time to go there. The weather was first foggy with solid snowfall, but after some snowy days we had blue skies and sunshine. It was excellent! Except the weekend, there were no liftlines and you were still alone in the off- piste. The terrain is wide and open. For freeriders it is heaven. It's no question. We stayed at Molika. It's a simple mountain hotel. The food was okay and it's inexpensive! Unfortunately, the night life is crap but the backcountry skiing is brilliant. The upper chair wasn't working, so we walked up and after that just skied down. This bowl is incredibly steep, only for experts. But it's worth it. After the steep bowl you'll have nice and wide terrain. Just relax.

Hopefully in few months the privatisation will pass the Brezovica to those who deserve it....not to those who since 1985 did'nt invest "nothing" trying just to gen and nothing to give. I am very optimist that good days are coming and soon we will have that best place with the night life and lifts working all day long....

I was in Brezowiza last week (week 6 2006) - and the lifts were not running, there was no heat in the hotels and the light kept on turning off. I left without even seeing the mountain but I would probably wait for the political situation to become a little more stable before I go back... Mette, Denmark

Well I haven't ridden Europe slopes...but one thing is 4 sure...The best slopes of Balkan are located in Brezovica or better said Sharr mountains, with a vertical drop of 1600m and top ski lift point of almost 2300m...The best mountain 4 good skiers...Imagine the lowest point or start ski lift point of Brezovica is the top point of Mavrovo...It's only a pity that it was not invested at all since 20 years and night life sucks...Hope privatisation will come soon and everything will come 2 the right place...Cuz believe me if you ride once here you'll never want to change the mountain...at least in Balkan...
