Western Canada Snow Report

Conditions in western Canada remain relatively wintry, although the past week has been drier. Several resorts, including Big White and Sun Peaks, closed after Easter, with more to follow. Temperatures stay below freezing on upper slopes but can reach +10°C at base levels. Major destinations like Banff and Whistler continue operations into May.

Western Canada Snow Forecast
Cold upper slopes persist between –14°C and –5°C, while bases warm to +3°C to +9°C. Dry conditions dominate, preserving firm snow up high with some afternoon softening lower down.


Eastern Canada Snow Report

Eastern Canada has shifted firmly into spring conditions, with most resorts now closed. Temperatures have remained above freezing at lower elevations, with rain and sleet impacting snow cover. Tremblant and Mont Sainte Anne still have good terrain coverage, while Sommet St Sauveur aims to stay open into May.

Upper slopes remain cold, between –12°C and –4°C, while bases hover around 0°C to +6°C. Mostly dry weather continues, with limited snowfall expected.


US West Coast Snow Report

A late burst of winter delivered up to 60cm (24") of snowfall across higher terrain last week, offering brief powder conditions. However, warm temperatures quickly returned, restarting the thaw. Many resorts, including Heavenly, have now closed, leaving only late-season specialists like Mammoth Mountain (90/270cm / 36/109”) operating with strong coverage.

US West Coast Snow Forecast
Cold upper slopes contrast with warm bases. A front may bring around 30cm (12") of new snow to high terrain through the weekend, followed by dry, spring-like conditions.

Rocky Mountains Snow Report

The Rockies saw significant snowfall last week, with up to 60cm (24") in Utah and strong totals across Montana and Colorado. Despite this, warm, dry weather has returned, and many resorts have closed, with remaining areas operating limited terrain.

Midwest Snow Report

Most Midwest ski areas have now closed, although a few remain open after receiving up to 40cm (16") of snowfall over Easter. Warm conditions are reducing base depths, though some resorts still report up to 90% terrain open. Mt Bohemia retains the deepest snowpack.

East Coast Snow Report

After a long winter, the East Coast has shifted to milder conditions, with rain replacing snowfall in many areas. Killington reported damage to its Superstar glacier after heavy rain and rapid warming, forcing temporary closure.
