Canada Snow Report
Only three Canadian ski areas remain open: Whistler in British Columbia, Sunshine near Banff in Alberta, and Sommet St Sauveur in Quebec. Sunshine continues to benefit from one of its snowiest winters on record, with seasonal snowfall nearing 10m (33 feet). All three areas plan to continue operating for at least another fortnight. Western Canada has seen mostly sunny weather, while eastern regions have remained cooler with occasional rain and sleet showers.

Canada Snow Forecast
Whistler trends warm and mostly dry with temperatures rising into the low 20s Celsius. Banff Sunshine stays cooler with occasional showers, while Sommet St Sauveur sees mixed spring conditions.

Western US Snow Report
Several Western US ski areas remain open into May following fresh snowfall earlier this week across higher terrain. Mammoth Mountain still has more than a third of its terrain open, while Palisades Tahoe, Crystal Mountain and Timberline also continue operations. The biggest story came from Colorado, where Arapahoe Basin reversed plans to close after receiving around 35cm (14") of snowfall during the past week. Utah’s Brighton also extended its season following 25cm (10") of fresh snowfall, while Snowbird plans limited weekend operations before ending its 2025/26 season. Colorado’s mountains reported some of their biggest snowfalls of the winter after many resorts had already closed, with up to 90cm (36") falling on higher terrain.

Western US Snow Forecast
Warm, dry spring conditions dominate across the West, although overnight temperatures remain cool enough for limited refreezing at higher elevations.

Eastern US and Midwest Snow Report
Only a handful of ski areas remain open in the Eastern US and Midwest following more seasonal closures last weekend. Killington and Jay Peak continue operations in Vermont with limited terrain still available. Black Mountain in New Hampshire, Camelback in Pennsylvania and Boyne Mountain in Michigan also remain open on selected dates. Conditions remain highly spring-like, with occasional sleet showers and daytime highs reaching the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit.

Eastern US Snow Forecast
Mild, mostly dry weather continues across the Eastern and Midwestern US, accelerating snowmelt with no significant new snowfall expected.
