Alps

Italy’s Val Senales (20/40cm / 8/16”) has reopened for the 25-26 season. Austria’s Pitztal and Solden follow this weekend, with Hintertux also set to reopen.
Swiss resorts Saas Fee and Zermatt are already offering around 14km of slopes each. Stelvio reported fresh snow today, while Saas Fee enjoyed powder yesterday.
Forecast
Fresh snowfalls are expected across glaciers, including Molltal, Kaunertal, and St Moritz. A Mediterranean low brings unsettled weather, with snow above 2000m.
Scandinavia
Norway’s Galdhopiggen glacier (30/60cm / 12/24”) has reopened, with snow-farmed reserves and natural dustings. Finnish resorts Levi and Ruka prepare to open using stored snow.

Forecast
Lapland will see light rain and cloud, with highs near 11°C. Galdhopiggen expects snow showers, lows of –5°C, and gusty winds.
Scotland

Cairngorm Mountain webcams captured fresh snow on the last day of summer, signalling the first taste of winter.
Pyrenees
