Visitor Reviews of Sunshine Village

Robert from Canada writes:

SSV is righteous if you really appreciate all kinds of skiing. If you never ski off-piste then SSV is still an excellent area. If you ski slack or backcountry then it's absolutely stellar.

Sure, it's a tourist resort and serves a vast Bow Valley, Calgary and AB market of skiers, so it can get crowded at the bottom. Once you get up to the area It's actually got more inbounds skiing and backcountry terrain options than almost every BC resort including White H2O and Red.

Don't like the food? Bring your own. Doesn't compare to BC resorts? BS. Find yourself caught up in your own euphoria insulting others and reviewing BC resorts on the SSV page? I am happy for you because I love skiing too, but go to the KHMR page to review KHMR.

SSV is beautiful and awesome. Some of the best in-bounds slackcountry around in Delirium Dive, and access to unreal backcountry skiing in almost every direction. Even Standis (a very short lift) offers up a natural terrain park. If you cannot take advantage of this don't knock it. It's still a great resort in-bounds with some challenging terrain on Teepee Town and Goats Eye. Been skiing here for 40+ years. It's colder so consistently the snow is generally better at SSV than all BC resorts except perhaps in Jan and Feb. Other than those 2 months better snow quality and decent quantity. Longer season than almost all resorts too with a full 6+ months.
