Sunday River is an excellent ski mountain! They have incredible snow making capabilities and knowledge, the result of which is you can pretty much count that they will have good snow when noone else does. Really varied terrain from wide open groomers to glades to steeps that take your breath away. Lots of beginner trails too. I also highly recommend the ski shop at the base of the mountain - Sunday River Ski shop - ask for Greg or Dewey, two guys who really know what they are doing. If you've never worked with real ski pros, you'll be amazed at the difference between getting a really good fit on your boots or choosing just the right ski for your style of skiing. The restaurant selection is good, not great, but Gringo Harry's (a gourmet Mexican restaurant) is excellent, and the Sunday River Brew pub is always reliable and fun. We have been skiing here with our family of young kids for many years now and we all love it.
