Smuggler's Notch in the United States (Vermont State) is a medium sized ski resort with 9 ski lifts (6 chair lifts, 3 surface lifts) that offers skiers an impressive 795 metres (2608 feet) of vertical descent. Smuggler's Notch has 260 acres of terrain over 67 trails with a total length of 25 kilometers (16 miles). Smuggler's Notch is best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for beginners and advanced skiers. There are 23 kilometers (14 miles) of cross country ski trails at Smuggler's Notch. For snowboarders, there are 3 terrain parks and a half pipe. Over half of the trails at Smuggler's Notch are covered by snowmaking. The nearest airport is at Burlington International and the nearest train station to Smuggler's Notch is at Essex Junction.
