Went for a half day skiing today, Jan 16. 2015. They had only magnetic skipass at 80 kunas; 30 kn is refundable after you return the chip card. I was doing a ski lessons with one person via our program on Sporttourism.com It was quite good in the morning; the slopes were still fresh. Later, the temperature got too high so only 5cm of snow on the slopes. We expect more snow in the following week so see you on the slopes!

The cable car at Sljeme is not in use any more. The new one is being planned to be built although, if the roads are cleaned of snow, the bus is driving you instead of the cable car. The mountain at Sljeme is not very high but is still a mountain. If you're planning to hike be sure you're well equiped for it.

I am working in Zagreb for a few months and went for a ski there (Sljeme) last weekend. Catch the no 14 or 8 tram to Mihaljevac and then an hourly bus to the top. Snow was old but they make their own too so skiing was not bad. Not a big ski-resort but pretty fine for a day or half day ski. Facilities are a bit basic at Sljeme, not very busy either which is good. Rental cost me 100kn and lift also 100kn from 1200 to 1600. Nice outing and mountain is very scenic. Had some snow this week so want to go and have a look on Sat.

After visiting Zagrbe for work many times I finally visited Sljeme. At just over a 1000m it's not very high. Admittedly, I only did the night skiing so didn't do all 5 runs, just the long red. It can take all of 5 minutes if you really push it but it was steep and fast and very well lit. The run is used as a world cup womens downhill run. Don't make a special trip. If you happen to be in Zagreb and it happens to be open then go. Some nice little bars and restaurants at the top and cheap - £10 for 7 to 10PM. Snow board hire was also cheap at £8 and fairly decent stuff. The cable car to the top was broken in 2008 so you needed to get the bus or taxi to the top and to get down. Hopefully next year the cable car will be open and this connects nicely with the trams from the city centre. So if you do it all from public transport the whole thing can be quite cheap.
