Stayed at Villa Alpen (Shiga Kogen Sun Valley): very friendly. The resort, however, is on the edge of Shiga Kogen and takes about 2 hours in lifts to reach the other side. Sun Valley is more suited for beginner/intermediate. Great for kids and wide open slopes. Not many place to buy food. More options for resturants at Ichonise family ski runs. Overall, Shiga Kogen (Shiga Kogen Sun Valley) is a huge place and just great!!!
