serra da estrela as a small resort has its limitations. its ideal for begginers and better during the week. as a small resort without competition... is expensive with an unexperienced staff but above all is always a nice program for all those who dont know the region and want to try the snow adventure. give serra da estrela resort a chance because it has great potencial.

i've never done any skiing there, but seems like a small place. the company exploring the place should invest more on the surroundings (get that awful shopping centre some coiffeur) and try to make it a better and confortable place. less hill-billy. it's wrong to go on easy-money just because they are the only ski resort in Portugal. get some quality for costumers for christ's sake. And plant some nice trees, like northern pinetrees and chestnuts, goddamit. woods make rain and snow and nicer views.

A nice resort with the best snow, Serra de Estrela is an excellent montain, the highest mountain in center of Portugal , great skiing and exploring.. Not much skiable terrain, just 15 km , a good place for beginners, each ski area, great place for kids. With very traffic on week End and parking in the resort can be difficult. Great restaurants, lots of good accomodation to be found. Don't expect wild apres ski! It's a place i'd recommend for families and couples..Hope you enjoy your stay.

Too small (only 7km), max lenght is 1 km, very easy, rocky, with lack of snow quite often and the staff don't make enough efforts to guarante it with the weather not helping sometimes(windy, rainy or hot sunny). When it snows, the resort is closed 2, 3 or even 4 days because of the roads...incredible! Due to this conditions it's very very expensive! However it's nice because it's the nearest resort from Lisbon, but only apropriate for one day skiing - no weekends, no holidays. Lucky for me i've got there an house of my own, otherwise it would cost me a fortune to stay there! Try it but leave it! Do yourself a favour and go abroad!

A resort only good for those, like me, who suffer from 'snow fever' and can't afford or do not have time to go abroad to the real stuff. Downside: Extremely expensive, managed by stupid and arrogant people. Upside: If you have the legs for it (advantages of a small mountain), you can climb and surf the way down (at least you save the forfait money) and try to think you are doing some free-ride in a real mountain. Why? The pists are to short and to damn easy. Snowboard rules!

A very nice Sky Resort. The people are very nice. Very suitable for families with children (ages 2 to 10). Hotel Camelo in SEIA has an ambiance very familiar.

every time snow falls, they don't clean the roads... they take many hours or days to complete croad cleaning. The Tourism Autority are the responsable for that lost of time. a real shame...

Actually, its one of the smallest Ski Resorts of the world, but its also the Ski Resort that has the most snowmaking coverage in Europe !!! One snow gun every 200 meters, all over the resort !!! Its also one of only three Ski Resorts in Europe that has an electronic skipass system. It has a 1000 places free parking (Sierra Nevadas' parking costs about 10?/day !!)

The only ski resort in Portugal. Will open this year with new chair lift and a brand new system for making snow! The resort is best suited for beginners, but I like to go there, just for fun, when every other ski resort in Spain or France looks too far. WARNING: this is the most expensive ski resort in Europe
