Fantastic ski area, well looked after pistes, huge variety of runs through trees, open mountain tops and glacial. So many small villages as well as the town to stay in and so much more than alpine skiing. Great local brewery too! visited a large variety of european resorts for 12 years before arriving here. Made sure I've been back each year for the last 15 and will carry on for many many more. Try it and you'll never look back

I have an appartment in Aich, just down the valley from Schladming. The skiing there has tempted us to return for nearly 20 years and propbably will for 20 more. The pistes are quiet, beautiful and plentiful. The locals are very friendly and the scenery amasing. It really is Ski Paradise.

FANTASTIC! Great intermediate skiing, moguls were fun over towards Planai, big ski area that is fab as you can ski the whole valley when conditions are right. Stayed in Haus at Pension Ennstal and was brilliant great local pubs with skittle alleys and a brill local ice cream parlour. Went with Oakhall which was the best - great prices and great instruction.

Went to Schladming in feb 2003 and feb 2004. Overall a good friendly resort with excellent doorstep skiing in Rohmoos. The ski show is a must along with the swimming pool that boasts a whirlpool and a slide. The accomodation in the Gastoff Wiesenhiem was friendly and comfortable with a pizza service and doorstep skiing. The instructors are all friendly a advance quickly and comfortably

JUST BEEN TO SCHLADMING 15TH JAN,THE WEATHER WAS COLD AND ICY. LOVELY TOWN BUT NOT QUITE SUITABLE FOR SMALL CHILDREN,AS THE SKI SCHOOL IS AT RAURIS.THE BUS RIDE TAKES ABOUT 15MINS AND IS NOT FREQUENT ENOUGH,AS SKI SCHOOL STARTS AT 10 O CLOCK.NOT MUCH TO DO AT RAURIS AT LUNCH TIME SO BACK TO TOWN IT IS, ALTHOUGH CAFE OTIS IS WORTH THE VISIT GREAT FOOD.THERE WAS A STOMACH BUG IN RESORT AND ALL OUR PARTY OF 8 GOT IT, NOT MUCH FUN.THE HOTEL STADDTOR WAS FANTASTIC SERVING GOOD FOOD.THE HOLIDAY OVERALL LEFT YOU FEELING RUSHED,NOT RECOMENDED FOR QUITE YOUNG FAMILIES DUE TO THE SKI SCHOOL IN RAURIS, ALTHOUGH IT WAS FIRST CLASS.OTHER THAN THAT ITS A GREAT RESORT FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH NO KIDS.

I have been snowbording with my son checking out a variety of areas in Austria, France,Italy, US and Canada. Schladming as a total experience is definately the top of our chart - something for everyone the saying goes. We have kept being magnetised back there for the 17 years! If you happen to go there look out for the oldest snowboarder I know....going on 58 but dont be fooled. If this area is good enough for Arnie we will all be back.

Did Schladming in Feb 2003. Good intermediate resort. Good food on slopes. Hotels - get what you pay for really. Not just a tourist town. Apres ski was gentle.
