Just got back from a great week's skiing in Lofer. Have to agree with previous posts, made for families. Only negative is our experience on the four man lift, arriving before the 4pm closing time, found the station closed! After protest we were allowed access ( 2 children included ), if this hadn't been the case a long hike up the mountain would have faced us. Thought this would have been a one off but the following day we arrived at 3:45 and the lads were cliosing up!! The lazy, uncaring attitude of the lift staff apart, an ideal resort for families ( just don't ski till the death!)

We love Lofer. Great family resort, not too many queues and missed it for the last couple of years :-( . Excellent for young kids to learn, as we started our 4,5 and 8 yr old a good few years back, and they were well catered for. Can't wait to return in 5 weeks time and excited about spending new year on the slopes. Such great locals and always made to feel welcome wherever you go - our favourite place to ski ... PS - don't share this with too many people, as it will just become another hectic resort.

Totally agree with the other comments. If you want a family holiday with no racers speeding around, this is the place to come. Many locals speak English up to a point, but try your German out, they will appreciate it. The Blue runs are wide and flat, the Reds are pretty straight forward as well. There are only two Blacks, and they could almost be French Reds!! Go and take a look at the " Night of Fire". Amazing.

We come to Lofer every couple of years. Friends from U.S.A. Canada,Scotland, Germany and Holland join us at Villa-Egger with Hosts Seppi Farbinger and his neice Claudia Pfeiffenberger. I guarantee you will love this accommodation. The skiing is twice as good as Australia and is half the price.

We loved skiing in Lofer, it was so laid back without long queues and pushing and shoving! The area is so beautiful and the pistes were wonderfully groomed. We stayed at Haus Patricia right in the village and loved every minute.
