What's it like at La Hoya resort?

La Hoya ski resort and mountain activities center is located close to the town of Esquel, in the Province of Chubut. Its name derives from the mountain shape, which is a wide glacier above a circular basin, where all the ski runs join at the same point at the base. In the 1930’s, pioneer skiers from the region discovered this attractive natural formation and began to visit the mountain. La Hoya offers up trails for all abilities. One outstanding feature at La Hoya is the off-piste skiing and riding.

Hasta 2019 era un centro de esquí con algunas falencias, pero se veía un espíritu de amor por la montaña en el personal y más que nada en la gerencia.
El servicio se volvió un desastre. No tiene ni idea de esquí o snowboard, personal que no sabe o no quiere trabajar. Casi no se pisan pistas, pero tampoco se habilitan los fuera de pistas. Si nieva, se les complica todo (muy vergonzoso considerando que es un centro de esquí). Cierran el centro ante cualquier brisa y permanentemente publican que el nivel de avalancha es 4, pero jamás publican los datos que recaben para decidir dicho nivel. O no quieren trabajar o son simplemente inútiles. Están devastando un hermoso centro de esquí familiar, que siempre tuvo las mejores condiciones de nieve de toda argentina. Una vergüenza la concesión.
