I went to Targhee and bought 3 full-priced lift tickets. I learned after the fact that my local season pass entitled me to Mountain Collective benefits. The Activities Center was unwilling to provide a refund. Interestingly, the two people I spoke to both had very different reasons for why they wouldn't refund me, neither of which were honest or honourable.
I was stupid for not reading the fine print, they were greedy and unethical.
Despicable Customer Service.
Targhee used to be a great mountain when its prices were competitive and they offered Snowcat skiing. Now lift tickets cost almost as much as Jackson Hole ($135 vs. $200), as does the food and lodging. Jackson Hole is an infinitely better mountain, and Jackson or Teton Village, WY are infinitely better places to stay than Victor or Driggs, ID.
Don't waste your time and money at Targhee, they certainly don't deserve it.

I've been making my way to Targhee from B.C. for a few years , but starting to go elsewhere now as management thinks they can gouge because Jackson is still much more $$. Used to get deals on liftopia , but no more . 7% off booking a week early, come on!! 90 bucks for 3 lifts is a joke, don't get me started about the food prices! Look around people, there are lots of more reasonably priced ski hills with more vertical and lift capacity.
Grand Targhee is a great area. The people are friendly and it's never crowded; not big enough to be a destination resort, but a fine day trip for those staying at Jackson Hole. Snowfall is deep and very reliable. High base elevation at Grand Targhee keeps the powder fresh on sunny days in the spring when lower slopes at Jackson Hole can turn slushy. Groomed slopes are nice but are mostly intermediate and can get boring for advanced skiers. Grand Targhee is at its absolute best after fresh snow when all of the off-piste meadows and glades beckon. Those same slopes can be frustratingly unskiable when the snow is old and cruddy (not a frequent occurence, fortunately).
Went to Jackson Hole in March 2007 with my missus and a couple of friends. The snow in Jackson was pretty poor so we decided to catch the "Targhee Express" and have a day on the other side of the Tetons.
All I can say is WOW! What a place. There was way more snow than at JH and the views of Grand Teton were amazing. Ended up going back two more times and was lucky enough to get there following a heavy snowfall the night before which opened up loads of superb off-piste skiing.
The only downside is that the ski area is pretty small and you can easily ski all the runs in a couple of days. Well worth a visit though!
