Many years after avalanches in the road between Shemshak and Dizin, ending the life of people. establishing some barriers breaking up slopes into small areas to prevent a massive of snow from building up, and road protection by specially built tunnels, etc. Seems to be necessary and important to act, instead of new wasted plan to check number of passengers with their name, car specifications! to find all have returned finally or probable avalanches have changed the statistics!? What will it solve this kind of checking? to know how many have died again? We have the experience of concerned primitive open- air tunnels in the roads like Chalus and Haraz since long ago. Those are not unavailable structures, compared with the metro tunnel's complexes, if our people lives are important.

Refer to NGO Iran ski association review, I also approve most of his discussions, but I don't know whose hand is he pressed and invite to help? I believe that progress in any fields mostly need: plan, policy, and the interested character of the system, which we don't see and do not feel such factors ! Where, we hear in Friday prays (Shiraz) the speaker call the ski resort in area, as a centre of corruption! While, sedition take place in covered spaces next to their ears and eyes, not in an open air places with so many eyes watching ! ...

Having lived in Switzerland for several years and skied often at Verbier, I am a very keen skier. Moved to Dubai for work, and Dizin proved to be the closest/easiest logistically resort for a long weekend. Yes, the resort is dilapidated and the lifts are from the 60's (sponsored by Milka so would assume when Zermat binned their lifts for an upgrade in 1963, Dizin got them!), and yes the equipment for rental is ridiculously expensive and also in terrible condition, but the mountain itself and the snow was fantastic. I was there on a Friday and a Saturday, and both days if you even venture slightly off the piste, which was what I was looking for, you had massive snow fields with deep untouched champagne powder. It is no exaggeration to say that I had fresh tracks all day for both days and condition-wise, it was the best skiing I had ever experienced. Down side of the resort is the queues. On Friday the lift queues were shockingly long - around 30mins on some cases, and the Iranians are worse than the French at pushing in queues :) However, if you grin and bear the first bubble, stay high enough and opt for t-bars which are unused in comparison, and don't go into the bottom half of the mountain until the end of the day. Another complaint was Saturday, which was much more quiet in terms of number of visitors, as soon as the afternoon came about and everyone who would be coming had come, they shut off all bar one lift and blamed it on the weather - there were perfect blue skies. It was obvious that they collected their money, and turned off the power to save costs. Left a bitter taste but wouldn't have come close to ruining the morning and the previous day's snow. Lifts also closed much earlier than at many of the European resorts I have been too, with last lifts between 3:15 & 3:30 despite there being plenty of light. There also was no mountain maintenance and witnessed 2 not un-significant avalanches (no recco/helicopters/rescue teams for hundreds of miles) Apres ski is non-existent, but if you drive 10 mins back down the mountain there are plenty of roadside restaurants where you can get a bbq and hot tea and shisha. No Pub Mont Fort apres though.... Overall, I recommend Dizin a lot based on the conditions if you want off-piste, as Iranians don't leave the marked trails. However, as it is unreliable in terms of lifts etc, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone coming further afield than the Middle East, as much better all-round resorts closer to home.

This Mountain will tempt me to go and ski on it, even with my injured knees. This Monday after 6 days of snow falling, I'll go there.

Dizin, however back to roughly 40 years background without any extension and equipment changes, but is awesome and amazing yet. It has variety of terrain and runs, from powder to icy flat and mogul terrains. I am amazed every time I come to Dizin. But lift lines are massive on holidays! Especially when the upper road is open. I love skiing above clouds, and G-7 is a place where that happen sometimes because of the high altitude. We have an idiom from long ago that, each flower has its own smell. therefore, if you love ski, you'll be amazed on any slopes either primitive or modern ones.

I refer to the point of view of another reviewer, I also would like to emphasise upon such thoughts and relations which make someone fix in his/her position during his lifetime. If we leave monopolism, we can find so many worthy directors to handle the job. Look at the advertisements regarding the Ski tours to Palandoken, Erzurum, Turkey. Our neighborhood country and the number of applicants who go eagerly and repeatedly as an alternative, we will find the role of managements in any fields. Our country has the 5th usable resort of the world regarding the altitude, after some in Himalaya and Andes, in Peru! Why we had not been able to extend our nearest piste in Tehran, yes, in Tehran G-7 toward the Shahrestanak and Ahar for long and off-season ski, from November to early summer?! Everybody know well, if the water stop in a pool without any circulation and changes, soon it will be sewage and center of malaria mosquitoes! [Editor's note: text has been edited to be concise]

Dizin is one of the best pistes in the world. I guarantee this claim as I'm professional skier and almost skiing all over the world. Maybe you gonna find some pistes in the world with much more facilities and liberty but Dizin is one of the most beautiful one and unique. I miss it so much.

Next week there will be snowboard FIS race in Dizin. You can check fisski.ch Dizin ski resort situated to the north of Tehran in the Alborz mountain range. The huge Dizin ski resort was established in 1969 [1]. The ski season in Dizin also lasts longer than European ski resorts (from December to May) because of its high altitude. The highest ski lift reaches 3,600 m (11,800 ft), making it one of the 40 highest ski resorts in the world. Dizin ski amenities include two hotels, 19 cottages and 5 restaurants, villas and private apartments around the Dizin ski resort that accommodate thousands of people every year.

Lots of good memories at Dizin, it's been more than ten years since I last skied there. Although I have had the opportunity to ski in different resorts in western Canada, Shemshak and Dizin will always be with me, forever.
