We have skied Beaver Creek twice now; January 2005 and 2006. It's a hike to get to from Australia. However, it is well worth it as it rates as one of the top 10 resorts in the world. You will find at least one fall line or more off every lift; you are never short on variety. There are runs to suit all standards, especially advanced skiers (Birds of Prey, the fastest mens downhill in the world). There is very little flat traversing here; you can always find a fast way down. The mountain is impeccably groomed, while offering plenty of powder areas. It is especially good after one of the usual overnight powder dumps. The village is good, expensive and lacking in a bit of atmosphere, however, the condos are excellent. It's all ski in-ski out with skiways all through the village. There is always inexpensive variety at Avon, a short 10 minute shuttle away (free shuttle buses run there). Beaver Creek is a well planned and executed resort that is a must in every skier's lifetime.
