Again back to Axamer Lizum on 1st February 2010. Perfect weather, sunny, cold and very good visibility. However, the snow was not of good quality this time. Unfortunately, in most pistes the snow was very icy, which made skiing difficult and a bit dangerous.

We went to Axamer (Axamer Lizum) on the 30th December 2009 - had a great day out. Efficient lifts, stunning views and one of the best mountain restaurants I've been to - James Bond lair rather than Tyrolean charm!! Self service but the spread inside was seen to be believed. All this with no queues, charming staff and half the price of France or Switzerland. As mentioned by other reviewers - the long blue from the top lift is most certainly a red!! Something for all abilities here at Axamer Lizum. Recommended.

I was at Axamer Lizum in March 2009. It is a very good ski center, only 45 min from the central bus station of Innsbruck. Regular (about every hour) connection with central bus station of Innsbruck with free shuttle bus. Very bright and nice pistes, lovely view over Innsbruck, lots of snow. The most important fact: all pistes were very well groomed. It is very convenient for intermediate skiers, as most pistes are red. The only negative point not related to the ski center itself was INTERSPORT ski rental: they charged us 25 euro per person for ski equipment (ski, ski boots, sticks). If possible, rent ski equipment elsewhere. But otherwise, I had great time at Axamer Lizum and I look forward to going back again soon.

Axamer is a personal favourite. It is a big hill with lots of terrain. Some nice trails too for those who like to ski groomers. If you stay in Mutters, you can ski back at the end of the day - but you cannot ski into Axamer from Mutters without trekking.
