Just returned from a short trip to the Tirol and skied Axamer on the Saturday.

We were warned it may be busy with locals but didn't really expect to experience the biggest lift queues we have seen anywhere! Not the greatest start and it then wasn't helped by the 2man lift from the resort centre breaking down whilst we were on it, and it taking 1hr for us to get off! Fortunately the sun was shining and it wasn't so cold.

Apart from the long lift queues and the broken lift, this is quite a nice small pisted ski area for intermediate skiers and would probably make a great day out mid week when it's likely to be much quieter. For intermediate and advanced skiers, however, it's not a place to go for much more than a day or two because you will get bored.

There is only one tiny hotel in the resort centre so it's also not a place to go and stay for a week's holiday!

The nursery area is very small and the one blue run would be red in other resorts so couldn't recommend this resort as a destination for beginners either.
