What's it like at Awakino Ski Area resort?
Awakino Ski Area is up the Waitaki Valley, 45 km from Oamaru, in North Otago. It is a good area for all skiers, plus there is cross-country touring, along the St Mary Range. The slopes at Awakino Ski Area are accessed by rope tows. There is accommodation for groups of up to 30 people at the lodge. The 4WD access road may require chains. The season runs from July to October.
