Snowbowl can be fun on good snow days (though rare), but the ticketing system and pricing are flawed. They will change anywhere from $50-$300 per lift ticket for a mountain of three decent chairlifts and variable snow.
They oversold tickets, put no sign to update that they are at capacity and not allowing ticket holders in on 180 at the base of the mountain. The traffic on 180 blocks the road for miles, with no one directing it and no sign to explain what is happening, cars are constantly cutting each other off to try to get in. We arrived at the resort before opening, waited on the side of the road along 180 in a line of traffic for over an hour, when we finally pull in at the base of the mountain we were told we could not go up to park because they oversold tickets. They said we could wait in another line with over 100 cars and they "might let a few in over the next few hours," or buy another ticket for another day. We never made it in, prepaid tickets did not matter. Waste of money, gas, resources, and a huge let down for everyone on the trip. Save yourself a headache and spend your money somewhere else.

Terrible experience with Covid restrictions.
They won't allow you up the mountain unless you pre-buy tickets online. Which is fine, until you spend 4 hours driving to the mountain just to be turned away because of "covid capacity." Today there was hundreds of cars crammed at the base of the mountain being turned away. They pre-sold tickets knowing their capacity limits. People travel from out of town to get here and are forced to turn around and go home.
It is a mountain for crying out loud, there is more than enough room for people to socially distance in addition to all the preventative measures set in place. Employees at the bottom of the mountain had hardly any information to give people and it was a hot mess. They couldn't even dictate what their capacity was.
I have been coming to this mountain for 15 years and have never been turned away for something as ridiculous as this. Sorry, but it is not worth the drive and the customer service was entirely lacking.

Major improvements over the past few years including 2 fixed grip quads and a 6 person detachable chair. The resort is also capable of producing 1.2 gallons of artificial snow each day resulting in good surface on most days. There is a lot of tree skiing available as well. Dining facilities need updating and hotel/cabins near the main highway need a major upgrade, but excellent hotels are available 15 miles away. Can’t wait for next year when the proposed chondola (ed: ?gondola) might be installed to replace the main lift to the top of the mountain. The resort is now the premier destination in the Phoenix, Tucson and Las Vegas markets.
Cliff is right. I was there in March of 2008, and it was beautiful. You have a panoramic view, including the Grand Canyon! I'd give the Snowbowl a thumbs up!
PS Directions:
From anywhere, find I-40, and follow to Flagstaff, Arizona. Then follow the signs until you start to ascend on Snowbowl road. Soon, you will reach the Snowbowl parking area. The lodge will be the first thing you see.
I spent a day here in April 2005. Compared to most European resorts its tiny but it is fun. There was loads and loads of snow, but it did get slushy, hardly a shock though when the temperature was in mid-seventies. This must be the only ski resort in the world where you get a view of the Grand Canyon as you ski. It was good fun I would go back if I was in the area.
