I live in Sofia. I ski and snowboard for 15 years in Vitosha. There are two options in that resort valid for 80% of the days from 1Dec to 31March:
1. Not enough snow
2. Lifts are closed due to the weather conditions
Vitosha seems to be OK being so close to the city but transportation to go up there is a nightmare.
