Soll, Austria...wow.
It was my first skiing holiday and I found it terrific. I was snowboarding last year and again this year. I stayed on the mountain near Soll but I was never left bored. Yes, the piste map is incredibly confusing, but it is probably really old. The ski garage is amazing, best idea ever. You won't have to carry your gear any further than 20 meters from the bottom of the slopes (presuming you take the home run and continue down the baby run to the garage) and in the morning all you have to do is pop your gear on 20 meters from the entrance of it and take the button lift (ski tow) to the gondola station.

We found the nightlife to be a little lacking, but we were back in the hotel early to get up first for fresh snow.

Our only problem was that the snow was absent for four days before we arrived and three after so some slopes were getting bare but the snow cannons were working all night and they were well maintained over night.

We stayed in the Ferrian Fuks hotel, advertised as being in the town but it was actually a five minute walk to the far side of it. Disappointing, but we ended up walking to the garage and the base with no problems in the morning and were in fact first on the slopes, with time to travel up the gondola and take the home run back before our lessons started at 10 at the top of the gondola.
