Winter made an early-season entrance in Australia overnight, with a polar blast from the Antarctic dumping up to 15cm of fresh snow on the slopes as temperatures tumbled to around -2.C.

Today looks like the last gasp of winter as we do have snow in our forecast, temperature dependent. On and off snow showers are hitting the mountain this morning, so fingers crossed our temps remain snow worthy. Conditions around the mountain are pretty variable depending on what elevation and angle of terrain you are riding. Areas like the cat track are gliding much slower than we like and the higher elevation low angle groomers are skiing fast and effortless. Of course, as you get to lower elevations the snow will be a bit more grippy and eventually become slushy as you reach the village.... from Schweitzer Mountain
