Visitor Reviews of Fieberbrunn

JC from Ireland writes:

Until a few years ago Fieberbrunn was an unexceptional Tirolean resort; there are many similar places. A few lifts, a small selection of pistes, some off-piste through the trees and under the lifts. Ideal for day trips for families.

The introduction of new lifts has made a big difference. Firstly, the Reckmoos lifts opened up two big bowls with some long steepish reds and plenty of off-piste.

Last year, even more importantly, a new lift linking up with Saalbach / Hinterglemm has completely changed the nature of the resort. This opens up the possibility of long days of piste cruising. It is even possible to ski to Leogang (about 15km up the valley) and get the bus back in the evening, though perhaps a few more buses might be a good idea.

Although there are some hotels and apartments around the lifts the main area of the village is a little way away, necessitating use of a bus or car. It is a much quieter and more family friendly spot than the rather party focused Saalbach / Hinterglemm area. It is probably a good place for a group with different skiing levels; the local slopes are ideal for beginners whilst there is plenty to challenge further afield.
