Verbier will open for its winter 2026-27 this Saturday, 7 November. The famous Swiss resort has confirmed that the season will begin with skiing on the Lac des Vaux run, marking the official start of winter in the renowned 4 Vallées ski region.
Ski area operator Téléverbier says teams have spent recent weeks preparing the mountain for opening day, taking advantage of suitable early-season conditions to get the first terrain ready for guests. Initially, operations will focus on the Lac des Vaux sector, accessed via the Médran gondola, Funispace and Lac des Vaux chairlift.
Throughout November, skiing will be offered on weekends only, with additional slopes and lifts expected to join the line-up as snow and weather conditions allow.
To celebrate the return of winter, the resort plans to welcome the first skiers on Saturday morning with complimentary coffee and croissants. Special early-season day-pass prices will also be available during November weekend operations.
Restaurants including Le Flocon and the Médran Café will be open to serve early-season visitors, while lift access from Le Châble and Verbier will ensure straightforward access to the first skiable terrain.
With Verbier opening this weekend along with the Glacier 3000 ski area near Gstaad, Switzerland will reach eight areas open in early November, although half of these are only operating at weekends this month.
