Ski Antarctica
A company is offering a rare chance to go ski touring in Antarctica next month, you just need to have the funding and touring skills.
It’s on a lot of skier’s bucket lists, but trips to Antarctica don’t come cheap.
For skiers who can afford it though and are looking to swap the usual European and North American resorts for something genuinely extraordinary, AE Expeditions’ Antarctic sailings offer a rare chance to ski in one of the world’s most remote destinations. The experience combines expedition cruising with guided ski touring, taking experienced skiers and snowboarders ashore to explore Antarctica’s dramatic mountain landscapes.

The skiing is led by experienced, qualified mountain guides and, conditions permitting, guests can head out up to twice a day during shore landings, with six or more outings possible over a voyage. Past trips have included touring and skiing from Mt Tennant on Ronge Island, with a 700m descent, as well as Mt Hoegh to Andvord Bay (800m), Mt Pond to Whalers Bay (540m) and Doumer Peak to Port Lockroy (550m).
A 12 night/13 day Across the Antarctic Circle cruise (plus a one-night stay pre-cruise) departing 13 November 2026, from £11,597 for a stateroom superior based on a twin share. That includes full board (with house wine and beer at dinner) and all shore excursions but the ski or snowboard touring is an additional £1,022 pp.
