Colorado Rockies ski areas reported their third dusting of snow on higher slopes, including Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Winter Park, and Loveland. Pictures show early flakes on snow depth stakes, sparking optimism for the season ahead.

Currently, no outdoor ski areas are open in North America, except for indoor options like Big Snow in New Jersey or dry slopes, such as Liberty Mountain in Virginia. Early openings in Colorado could arrive by late October, depending on the severity of cold weather and snowfall.

Forecast
Western and Northern US resorts will remain mostly dry and mild this week. Light snow is possible at high altitudes in Colorado and Utah, although accumulations are expected to be minimal.
