Saint‑Martin‑de‑Belleville is set to debut a striking new addition to the Les 3 Vallées winter calendar this season with the launch of the Belleville Light Tour, a two‑stage night ski touring race organised by the Club des Sports des Menuires.

Designed as a fast, spectator‑friendly sprint event, the Belleville Light Tour brings the Olympic‑inspired ski mountaineering format into a fully illuminated night setting. Competitors will tackle short, intense circuits featuring climbs, descents, boot packs and rapid skin‑on/skin‑off transitions, mirroring the high‑tempo discipline that will make its Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026. Racers can enter individually or as part of a relay team, ensuring a dynamic head‑to‑head atmosphere throughout.

Each stage takes place on a lit course, with athletes equipped with headlamps and LED lights as they race through the night. Spectators will be able to watch the action up close from the village slope, creating a lively evening ambience in both host resorts. To encourage newcomers, organisers will provide an assistance zone before the start, helping first‑time ski tourers fit and remove climbing skins correctly.

In true Savoyard tradition, both nights will finish with a communal tartiflette shared by participants and supporters — a warm, convivial end to a high‑energy event.

Open to all levels, from beginners to seasoned ski mountaineers, the Belleville Light Tour will run across two dates:

28 January 2027 – Les Menuires

10 March 2027 – Saint‑Martin‑de‑Belleville

Each race features a 100‑metre vertical ascent on a compact course starting from the village ski slope in Saint‑Martin‑de‑Belleville.
