It was a mediocre experience and is a mediocre ski resort. There are better ones in the surrounding areas. The staff and management are uncaring and are unprofessional. They falsify information. Your money and your time will be better used somewhere else. Bypass this ski resort. It simply isn't worth your time and experience.
Avoid their ski school. It is a "mess." The instructor was rude and unprofessional. My daughter left crying and the staff/supervisor did nothing but tell me to write a review which I am doing now. I ended up paying for a private lesson and they did not reimburse me for the ski school. Unbelievable! I will say that the private instructor was very kind and he made the best out of a bad situation. Anyway, save yourself the headache and go to Shawnee.

Whitetail Resort is my second favorite ski area in PA, next to Elk. It's intermediate and expert trails maintain their pitch all the way down the lift-serviced verticals of 930" and 870" and are very pleasurable to ski. The central lift is a detachable, speedy quad that takes only four minutes to reach the summit. The snow-making is ample and the grooming is excellent. The views from the summit are Vermont-like. The lodge is spacious and modern.
