Awesome resort, I really like it; is not as crowded as other resorts. There are slopes for beginners as well as the pretty long red (intermediate) slope which is amazing. The view is probably the best in the world (well, at least Romania). Parking, renting and apres-ski are available on site. The cons (the road and accommodation nearby) are not because of the resort.
Next season they plan to extend it with new slopes. There are other plans as well, I just hope they keep up the good work.
Oh, you should come to meet Nur, the Samoyed dog which everyone loves! Just make sure it does not get your gloves... :D
Probably the most beautiful ski slope in Romania. When the weather is good (no wind, no fog, no low temperature) you can believe heaven is there. It is worth any effort with transport and accommodation that are not exactly proper.
Transalpina team did a good job there.
I believe that any Romanian or foreign skier/snowboarder can enjoy the gorgeous Vidra lake view from the top of the mountain.
Probably the best ski runs in the country in terms of view, snow, length, slopes and technology. Pays for all inconveniences you may encounter (access, accommodation, transport etc.) Worth combining with some visits to the thermal spas in Calimanesti-Caciulata located within 2 hours drive (if traffic conditions are good).
When it's good, it's very, very good! And it's good mostly during the week, when it's less crowded. This is probably the most snow-sure ski domain in Romania, and it's also one of the most modern and best maintained. Access and accomodation are still an issue: the road is bumpy, the parking lot is unfinished, and there are about six accommodation facilities on a 20 km radius, so advance booking is a must during high season. This should improve in the following years, with more and more B&Bs being built.
The view from the top slope is fantastic, the apres-ski is full of life, so all you need is a good pair of legs and a sunny, snowy day to feel like you're in skiing heaven.
