Veysonnaz (Veysonnaz-Printse) has both exellent skiing, with very friendly locals with good service in restaurants and bars. It's all coming together now.

Veysonnaz-Printze is a nice area, but the lifts in the Printze area are outdated. The pistes are good this year. In the Verbier area (large skipas) it is much better; nice modern lifts and very good pistes. Hotel Magrappe was good; direct to the lift and the piste. So you can go there and have a wonderful holiday but notice that the great lift system is on the Verbier part. On the Printze part there are mostly long drag lifts.
I find it very hard to believe what the guy from Belgium was saying in a previous review . Veysonnaz has fantastic skiing , a great lift system which is staffed by helpful staff . The fact that you can ski all the way to Verbier and back (if you are intermediate) makes it a great base for your holiday . The pistes are well groomed and not crowded . The resort is quiet with lovely restaurants and a few bars . The small skiers bar at the bottom of the new gondola is definately worth a visit each night. Altogether a top place, and I go back every January and even April to ski so I think I know.
We have visited the beautiful village winter and summer for the past 4 years. The views are breathtaking, the locals are friendly(as long as you make an effort to speak French) and the skiing is fantastic. My children, now 9 and 5, love it. They now even have their own place. ourveysonnaz.com is worth a look

We discovered this little known village 4 years ago and since then it's popularity has risen rapidly as the skiing is superb, the villagers welcoming & the views are stunning. Our own apartment is in the Les Balcons du Soleil (see www.holidayhomes4u.com for stunning views of the valley and our apartment). My 8 year old son and I cannot wait to be there again. I wish there were more school holidays so we could spend another week here!!!
We have just returned from our first visit to Veysonnaz and we can't wait to book up for next year ! The skiing was great and, with the introduction of the new 8 man high speed cable car, very accessable. The village was very accommodating with excellent restaurants, bars, cafe's and ammienities. The accommodation was excellent with the most amazing views over the valley to Sion. We stayed in the new Les Fontanettes apartments which were wonderful; a must for families as they sleep 10 and are appx. It's 400 metres from the main cable car with views to die for.
With cheap flights into Geneva or direct flight into Sion and then a 15 min taxi,I highly recommend you give this lovely little Swiss resort a try; you won't regret it !!!!
We were shocked by the previous report as we have been holidaying in Veysonnaz for 4 years now, returning each year as we have found it to be a warm friendly village resort with great skiing. We have never encountered any rude or drunk attendants on lifts, nor for that matter in any restaurant or bar. In fact they slow the chair lifts down for our 2 boys, aged 7, to allow them time to get on or help them with the buttons and Tbars. The main lift system has recently been updated with a new 8 man Gondola from Veysonnaz Village to the top. Skiing is great for all abilities and the views are spectacular. Last week there was wonderful snow conditions and the skiing was terrific. We can only think that M. Broecks had a one off unfortunate experience as this does not reflect the charm and warmth of Veysonnaz. We would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and always do. We have already booked up for Easter 2007 and cannot wait to get there!
We had a negative experience recently in Veysonnaz. Veysonnaz has very much out-dated ski lift equipment and the staff arre some of the rudest we have ever seen in any ski resort. We noticed staff members, including first-aid assistants, to be drinking beer extensively during working hours and vacating their posts. We saw a young child falling from a ski lift (she actually did not get off at the end abd was thrown into the hole that is located where the lift turns to go down again) and being hit by the lift several times so that she was heavily bleeding. The guy responsible for the emergency stop was absent and the first aid person who assisted to help was clearly drunk.
