Perfect station to spend a day with the whole family. Two detachable chairlifts serve the slopes, all of them groomed by 3 snow-grooming machines. The station has a really friendly and comfortable round restaurant on 2000 metres. Good blue level slopes and two magnificent red slopes: "La Pala d'Eixe" and "La Rampa". Nice black slopes and freeride areas.
Espot Esquí is the resort where I learned to ski, and I'm still skiing there now. I have skied in Baqueira, but even considering I know the station like the palm of my hand, it's still a lot of fun. Espot may be best suited to families and kids, but if you know where to look or where to walk too you can hit some nice cliffs and enjoy side country skiing. The grooming may not be on par with the best out there, but the welcoming staff make up for it.
Been to Espot in March 2005, my first year snowboarding. This resort is small so it's very familiar and the teachers are friendly. There are only 30 slopes, but that is ok for beginners/intermediates. The food is OK and cheap.
You must confirm whether to have snow there, chances are it would be less than in nearby resorts, like Baqueira-Beret.
Has a big hotel at the end of the runs, but I stayed a few km down the mountain.
Overall, a good experience, and a cheap one too. Good to families!
