Jan 24. First time in St Anton and not impressed by the resort management. Random lift closures due to ??, which mean you cannot ski out of the area only take the bus which is not free past St Christophe. The pistes back into the resort centre are blacks and reds (red 51 is a mountainous mogul field might as well be black). This means a funnelling of all abilities mainly onto the long black 52. Blue 52/50 has been closed due to avalanche concerns for most of the season, crazy, just blast it! You spend a lot of money on the Arlberg pass thinking you will be skiing between 6 towns, but they all become isolated once connecting lifts like Flexenbahn are closed and you have to stand up on the crowded buses.
