Having just spent two weeks in Bramberg (Jan 2014) with friends, babies, dogs we can honestly say that there is something for everyone.
The new Smaragdbahn lift is excellent and very reasonably price, especially if you are "Rodel-ing" (tobogganing) on the 14km run. The local ski area of Bramberg is much bigger than I expected and plenty to do for beginners and intermediate skiers. For the more adventurous skiers it couldn't be easier to access the Kitzbhul and Zillertal areas which are fantastic.
Within a 30 min, drive in every direction, there is so much to do for non-skiers, the Thauern Spa in Kaprun, Golf, in the summer in Mittersil, swimming lakes, beautiful walks, Sailing in Zell am See lake. The stunning cities of Kitzbhul and Salzburg also make a lovely day trip.
We are lucky enough to have bought our own 4 bedroom Chalet, in Bramberg and cannot wait to return year after year, winter or summer, to explore this beautiful area.
Our stunning Chalet Pengel is available to rent on the Chalets Plus website - dogs welcome!

The Wildkogel, what a gem of an Austrian ski resort. We have been open for 4 years now in this ski resort and Haus Barber is definitely a little touch of class in this great family ski resort and still relatively unfound by the Brits!

Stayed in Neukirchen (Neukirchen/Bramberg-Ski-Arena Wildkogel) at the hotel Kammerlander in January 2010. Had a fantastic time: hotel superb, food excellent, staff excellent, facilities superb, snow perfect. Was so looking forward to returning in 2011 but tour operator Crystal have removed Neukirchen from their brochure. If anyone knows any other operators who travel there? A lovely peaceful retreat that deserves better from British tour operators.
Been here (Neukirchen/Bramberg-Ski-Arena Wildkogel) for the last three years, excellent resort for families and kids/beginners. Even intermediates have more than enough runs.
Best toboggon run ever - what a rush and a nice bar half way down the mountain to stop and have a beer and take in the magnificent scenery. The bottom of the run is a wide slope to race to the finish where you can either catch the bus back to Neukirchen or have a beer and pizza at the bottom of the slope.
Plenty of umbrella bars around the village with good old German/Dutch cheesy music to get you dancing and singing. Love it!!
Enough restaurants to eat at for a week and a great pizzaria for take-aways or eat-in.
Overall, we love it as a family. Neukirchen/Bramberg-Ski-Arena Wildkogel typifies what Austria is all about. Don't tell too many people though.
