Stayed in Rauris this January for a quiet ski break.
The village and ski area is quite small but it has some great bars and some excellent terrain.
I’ve skied in Canada, France, Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, Andorra, and can say that although there are relatively few runs, they are all in excellent condition and all have fantastic terrain on them. The number 3 blue from the top of the mountain to the bottom is a fantastic run, with varied terrain on it, and is a good a blue as I’ve ever skied.
On the other side of the mountain is a blue into a long red and this takes you right back to the village. There is some steep parts on it, but again, as good as a red run you will find anywhere.
All in all, a compact resort, that you will ski all of easily in the week. But being small allows you to get familiar with the runs, and you can get more and more confident on them, putting more speed down each day.
Stayed in the rauriserfoff hotel which is superb.
