Skied Pila for the first time last year and we're going back in a couple of weeks. If you enjoy your apres-ski evenings, best advice might be to stay in Aosta, which is a lovely old Roman town with good nightlife and plenty of restaurants and plenty of accommodation. Great scenery, views to the north of both Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn, good range of pistes and very few queues, especially away from the beginners slopes. Ideal for a few days skiing and if you're going for longer lots of major and minor resorts are nearby, within an hour or so, so you can get plenty of variety.
