Went from the 19th Jan to 26th. Had nightmare journey to resort after being diverted to Varna due to fog. Got to hotel Elina where I stayed 2 years ago and, oh my god, it's gone so downhill even the rep said he couldn't believe the travel company were still using it (avoid like the plague).
As for everything else, great stuff. The ski instructor (Geri) was brill and I got to catch up with my old instructor (Nikki) while I was there. Ok, so the food ain't the best in Bulgaria, that's a known fact, but it does ya no harm livin' on pizza all week does it???
Big hello to the party of 35 from Gaa club, one of which was gods gift to women, shame he had a wedding ring on, I was gutted but with enough therapy I'm sure I'll get over it.
On the whole, great week, great company, good snow, brill instructor, superb laugh. Maybe going again around March if I can fit it in.

Arrived home 26.1.08, stayed at the hotel Finlandia. The hotel was excellent, food was a bit hit & miss but we were already aware of that. Staff & service; excellent. First time skiing for myself & our two boys. Our instructor, Yanko, was excellent and very patient with the kids. We have all got the skiing bug and are thinking of going back to Pamporovo in March.

Got back from Pamporovo on Saturday. After a terrible journey via Varna with a 10 hour coach transfer (bad weather) we had an excellent weeks skiing, but the lower slopes are in need of fresh snow. Top is still very good. Some of the reds could do with it as well, as they are getting quite stony and very icy. Stayed at Cedar Heights which is lovely accommodation, but no facilities & a 20 Lev taxi ride to town. Food & drink are more expensive than the brochures suggested, but there are some really good restaurants in town. Be aware that you have to pay to go to the toilet (normally 50 st or 1 Lev) in most places on & off the mountain. Take some change with you as they will sometimes stop you going in if you've not got it. Can't wait to go back again though....brilliant place!!

Just got back from a weeks skiing in Pamps. First time for the family and they are now hooked. Plenty of snow on arrival and more followed during our hols. All in all, found it brilliant, the locals are fun and everything is good value. Looking forward to our return. We returned with only three bells bought from cheap as chips Charlie, not honest John.

Hi, we have been to Pamporovo for the past two years. The snow last year was not great (Jan 07), but look at it this year. 60cm top & bottom already. That's more than they had all last season. We stay in the Hotel Finlandia traveling with Balkan Holidays. Main reason, kids 14 & under go FREE. Two adults & one child with full 6 days lessons, skis, boots, lift passes etc for just over £1000. You won't get that in the Alps. Going this year on 26th Jan & already looking to book again for the beginning of March. All in all, very friendly, good value for money up and coming ski resort.

First time skiing at Pamporovo Feb 07,went with a group of experienced skiers. Had a truly fantastic time, good beginners tuition. We are all back again Jan 12th 08. We are all excited and looking forward to having an even better time, now Steve and I are not beginners. Would recommended Pamporovo to others thinking of skiing, so long as you don't expect the best of everything, just go with the flow.

Have been to Pamporovo three times and just love the place, have always stayed at the Pamporovo hotel; lovely staff. lovely rooms, lovely food. We are going back 12th January 2008, can't wait.
Hi all, we have a place just outside Pamporovo in a village called Momchilovtsi and many of the inhabitants work at the ski resort .We love Pamporovo and go there every year to ski a couple of times at least. Our house is a newly built one with 6 ensuite bedrooms 3 lounge/diners and 3 fully fitted kitchens. Although I love Pamps and the night life, I don't think you can beat the village community life of a village. For a start, everything is a third of the price in the village compared to Pamps. There are transfers all day long to the slopes for a couple of bob and Momchilovtsi has its own snowboard park, where, if you don't fancy skiing all day, you can have a few rides a couple of beers and then home. There;s the usual restaurants/bars, shops, internet cafe and post office there too. Hiking trails are there along with mountain bike trails as well if you fancy something different. Summer and winter.
Anyway, have a look on our website and there's masses of info on the place there and if you fancy a luxury hol there with out being cramped then feel free to contact me. Good luck Nigel
Funny how reviews can be different? We went as a family last winter and had a great time. Ski hire company were brilliant - allowed us to store skis on the mountain and change to snowboards whenever we wanted. The restaurants were friendly and good. Food and apartments at Cedar heights were very good quality (and cheap, we booked through bgski.co.uk).
I have to agree slightly with the fact that the pistes were not maintained brilliantly and the lift operators didn't seem to know how to keep the chair lift areas free of ice but we have to remember that this is a developing ski resort and the whole of our party (8 people) felt it was a great holiday.
I would highly recommend Pamporovo and we have re-booked again for this winter.

Don't forget to pre book your lift passes before you go to Pamporovo. Pre booked they are around £85, in resort they are £125 !!!!!. Found a way 'round it though, just tell them you are buying an apartment and they give you the discount. Even the Crystal rep. didn't know this. !!!!
