Oz en Oisans is a great village with everything handy, and it's not so little anymore.
Most accommodation is close to the high speed lifts to take you up the slopes. A 'moving carpet' is also in the village so the little 'uns can be close to the accommodation
There's plenty of bars and restaurants to keep most amused at Oz en Oisans, though don't expect a nightclub scene, as there is none.
Good for families & keen skiers
Bad for young teens looking for beer & love at 3am.
Went to Oz-en-Oisans for the first time last winter, with my family, and thought it was a first class set up.
The ski school were great with the kids and the locals were friendly and welcoming. Accommodation is very reasonably priced, we are paying around £280 for an apartment that sleeps 7 this season and the access to the more challenging skiing in Alpe-du-Heuz is via 1 gondola lift.
Not a great deal going on at night but, if you've got young children, that's more of a plus than a minus.

Oz is fantastic - it is a beautiful small resort caught up in the middle of what is probably the best ski region in France; the Grande Rousses region/Alpe d'Huez ski region. Oz lifts take you to the mid station DMC (which is a lift from the bottom of Alpe d'Huez) and in effect from Oz it's quicker to get up the mountain and the glacier than from Alpe de'Huez.
The mountain restaurants coming down into Oz En Oisans are by far the best the mountain has to offer and whilst there are less restaurants in the town than Alpe de Huez there is the Ozzie bar and restaurant which is amazing!
Book a trip here and you won't regret it.
