Murren is a hidden secret in a mad ski-world.
Unspoilt, car free gem, very picturesque but still good skiing in a smaller skiing area. Some slopes are a challenge, even for the experienced skier, but the majority is attractive for medium to advanced.
Beware: no nightlife, no apres-ski hysteria, so very welcoming for families and sportive mountain-lovers. A few good hotels. Do not tell anybody, let's keep the secret for ourselves.
The approach to the piste is a bit of a strange train situation but you get used to that in the Jungfrau Region. Once you get up the cable it all comes together. And it’s pretty epic. The off-piste is on a grand scale and there is a lot of steep piste. The double station serving the Kandahar chair has a sweat bbq with a billion dollar view. If you ski well and like it big and alpine you might have found nirvana.
Mürren village is unique, beautiful, carfree and unspoilt. It is a place to unwind and relax with amazing views and very friendly locals. The snow record here is excellent with no Q's on the lifts (except the Schilthornbhan in the morning).

We've spent 2 holidays visiting Murren. Beautiful little location, we love the ski school. Not easy for beginners, but good for us as intermediates with Grindie and Wengen close by as days out.
Have been to Murren several times. It's unbeatable at Christmas, hardly any ques, atmosphere is friendly, quiet and a very magical Christmas indeed with the chocolate box houses and beautiful scenery.
