We have purchased the 5x5 pass for the last 12 years. Never ever have they notified us regarding the tier 1 purchase price. It is always sold out. Leaving us to, once again, pay the higher price. You would think being a loyal customer they would notify us when the sale starts. Also, getting far too crowded even on a work day. Bye bye Mount Saint Louis. Skiing somewhere else. You lost us.
The owners are investing in this resort, and it is one of the best near Toronto, but the parking lot is awful and needs a lot of work. Cannot be that much to put asphalt.
The potholes are enormous, and are getting worse every year. Not only cars get damaged, but a whole horse could get lost in them. C'mon guys, if you love us take some action.
I shudder every time I see the entrance to the parking lot. In days with crowds you have to drive around quite a bit through the potholes to find a spot to park.
I have been skiing at Mt St Louis Moonstone for the past years along with many other ski resorts in Ontario. In the past two years I have decided to purchase the night season pass. This year has been the worst, the team at Mt St Louis Moonstone is not grooming ever the trails after 3 PM, the trail condition is worse and the ride quality has been degrading at a constant pace during the years, with moguls and accumulated snow. I have been trying to talk with the people at the lifts at no avail. Even the entrance at the lift the snow/ice is accumulating making it difficult to enter and load the chair. I have been at other resorts and the teams there are working around the clock in making sure the access at the lifts and the trail condition is top notch even at the evening hours. More than that even if for the same price for the night season pass the other resorts are offering 7 nights, instead of 5, for night skiing. It seems that the afflux of new members coming from the more expensive places are making the team at Mt St Louis Moonstone is unable or unwilling to keep the quality standards we were so much used to. Unfortunately, the quality is degrading at Mt St Louis Moonstone and is pushing me away to other resorts for the next season.
Great skier movement, great lift system. As an instructor Mt St Louis Moonstone is the best place to teach (no real steeps, but great for everything else) best grooming and great parks. Both chalets offer good terrain choices with isolated areas for beginners. Mt St Louis Moonstone is a great place to learn. For lunch, get the home made sandwiches and soups, made fresh each day. The thing I like most is the family run business, run by people who ski and love skiers. They will always treat you well!
Snowboarded here for the whole 2007/2008 season, totaling about 25 times out. Small hill, yes, but the best grooming in Ontario (in my opinion). However, one thing to note is the wind - this place is notoriously windy, and if there is any rain in the mix, ends up very icy very fast. If you enjoy terrain parks - go here. Best, most progressive parks in Ontario, hands down.
Decent facility with rapid movement of skiers on high speed lifts. Minimal waiting time. Good hill grooming and decent run with moguls. Very small hill in height. Expect to do about 12 runs per hour. Security at this hill is poor and skiers should at ALL times protect their equipment from thieves.
