Montriond is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area in Haute Savioe France (with 650KM of pistes in 14 resorts) - the world's largest ski domain. Montriond shares the same pass as Avoriaz, giving 43 lifts and some of the best snow sure skiing in the Alps. The Stash is a major draw, being a natural snowpark with easy access to Avoriaz, it has been joined last season by a new jump-park. Montriond is renowned for its gourmet restaurants in Les Lindarets, a small goats village within the ski domain. Cross country skiing is available around Lac Montriond. Tim Graham-Jones from United Kingdom writes:

Montriond regular for 10 years.
Good access by minibus from Geneva (lots of operators).
5 mins from the Ardent ski lift (regular buses).
You don't ski in Motriond, you base yourself there for really good access to the centre of the Portes du Soleil.
Enough places to eat for chalet night off (Wednesdays). Book early. Nightlife is in Morzine.
Snow is a bit of a lottery (microclimate from Lake Geneva makes it unpredictable). You can always find somewhere to ski; when it's good it's great. Check the webcams!
