Foux d'Allos is a great resort. I have skied for 30 years including working in some of the larger well known French resorts and have had my best off-piste powder day in Foux d'Allos due to the lack of people outside of weekends and French holidays. You nearly have the place to yourself. I have never had to wait for a lift. Prices are very good. 3 course menu, in the town, 23 euros pichet wine 6 euros 1/2 litre beers abround 2.5 to 3 euro for a demi pression. Whats not to like!! It is a very French resort; not much in the way of apres-ski but a couple of bars and 2 nightclubs as well as a cinema. My advice, keep an eye on weather forecasts and snow reports, look for a break in the weather midweek, jump on a flight to Nice (these are cheap in the winter), grab a hire car and get some of the most crowd-free 230 km of piste you will ever find let alone the masses of untracked powder!,
