We have been informed that this ski area has been closed for some time.

Cuchara Mountain, in the United States (Colorado State), is a small ski resort with just 5 ski lifts (4 chair lifts, 1 surface lifts) but it does boast a respectable 476 metres (1562 feet) of vertical descent. Cuchara Mountain has 230 acres of terrain over 28 trails. Cuchara Mountain is only really suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. There are 8 kilometers (5.0 miles) of cross country ski trails at Cuchara Mountain. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park and a half pipe. The majority of the trails at Cuchara Mountain are covered by snowmaking. The nearest airport is at Colorado and the nearest train station to Cuchara Mountain is at Trinidad. There is accommodation located close to the pistes but we would welcome additional information about any hotels or chalets in Cuchara Mountain.

      Cuchara is one of the nicest ski area in Colorado. Everyone is so kind and friendly, yes, it is only one lift, but Lift 5 will reopen in 3-5 years, and the area will get bigger.
