I think some of these reviews are actually the hardcores Castle die hards trying to keep vistors away by trash talking the place so that no one shows up and the short lift lines and wind sift pow remains untouched. Don't blame them one bit, but check this place out (Castle Mountain Resort), just don't come on powder days.

I can't believe the whining about Castle Mountain Resort. If you don't like it steep, don't go. If you don't like the cold, don't go. If you don't like it windy, don't go. If you want nice groomers, ski the East. Castle rocks! It's the real deal man. No poofters allowed!

Castle (Castle Mountain Resort) is epic! It does have it's bad days, like all resorts do, but it's tough seeing people bashing Castle for being rude! Seriously, this place is awesome. Great terrain. Yeah, the lifts aren't the greatest but the long steep fall lines through the trees at the north end are unbeatable! Castle is awesome and I would recommend everybody to go there at some point! :)

We were to ski Castle (Castle Mountain Resort) for 5 days and found all runs far steeper than any of the other 7 areas we skied in the Rockies. On the first day we found the whole area icy and no loose snow to stop. When speaking to a supervisor on this he said he had a few runs and thought it was great (hot shot) and we asked for grooming. The next day we found only a few runs groomed and we left for Nakiska, never to return and to make sure that no one we meet ever goes there.

Castle Mountain Resort is a cute little mountain. It is overhyped for steepness - in fact the angles are great for confident intermediates, even on the so called double black runs - so is in fact more accessible than appears from looking at the piste map. Haig Mountain is ideal for beginners/improvers with a number of different routes through the trees. The lifts are slowish, but as there are no lift queues and you will have the mountain to yourself, you'll still get a lot of skiing done. No fresh snow for 10 days when I skied here but due to the lack of crowds the snow was in great condition. Barnabys Reataurant at the base lacks atmosphere; the T Bar Pub at the base was far better but only open at the weekends. Recommend checking out this place (Castle Mountain Resort) if you are in the area and want quiet off-piste heaven.

Castle Mountain (Castle Mountain Resort) is terrible...please don't come here...you're not welcome lol. We plan on keeping the low-budget lifts around for a few more years to keep the elitists away from our cushy steep pow days. You'll freeze your arse on the non-padded chairs and the off-ramp will give you frostbite at the top on windy days. Your toes will get cold and you might get a little damp..best to stick to Fernie nearby, they love the out of towners and it's always tracked out. Peace.

Don't ski at Castle Mountain Resort if it snows a lot as it's too steep, it's always windy, the lifts always break down and the people are mean and you're always pushing snow around with your knees. It's very tiring.
