Some pretty negative comments..... there has only been 2 days all year that there has been a lift line longer than 5 minutes. There's been so much powder this year we've all forgotten how to ski moguls. That said, I can remember the day Scotty Wigwam must have been there.... Sorry Scotty, that was not a normal day.. Most of the time, Castle is better than most, way better!
Todd from Afghanistan you're right a lot of these Castle mountain 'reviews' are suspiciously too negative, especially Mr. Wigwam from Calgary, lol the runs suck? Line-ups everywhere? The snow sucks?
This guy is full of sh1t, but now that I think of it, all of these comments are to keep people away, understandably since the powder at Castle this season has been excellent.
Slow lifts, windy and cold. You're way better off going to Fernie where 2000 people can track the place out in an hour before the January rain starts falling!
155cm is not less than half of 200cm. The ski reports are underestimated on the regular, especially on pow days. I've seen a good 25 cm laid down while the snow report says 10 cm. It's awesome for the locals like me who want to keep those damn Fernie skiers away. Nothing beats fresh tracks in the chutes or far north on a powder day.

I'm from Calgary and I will never make the trip to Castle (Castle Mountain Resort) again. The snow sucks, the runs suck, the people suck. It was windy and icy and huge lineups everywhere. If you're from Calgary, you might as well stick with Louise or Sunshine and if you're coming from the west, you should stick to Fernie. Castle was the most disappointing mountain I have been to. Me and my cousins left after half a day to go to Fernie.
Castle (Castle Mountain Resort) ski report and claims of annual snowfall and base equal to Revelstoke are kind of amusing to me. I have skied that mountain for 43 years now. Worked there and was one of the original volunteers to keep the place open. It does have some awesome terrain when snow is good but it can easily be messed up. I also ski a lot of places in Western Canada and US so these wrong ski reports don't give the place any credibility. Castle is a nice little local hill and does not have the big mountain terrain some think it has. All I can say is I love it there when it is good but some of you need to get out more and open your eyes. Then you will see the 155cm base is less than half of what other hills are reporting: a 200cm base.
Castle Mountain (Castle Mountain Resort) sucks. The lifts are slow, it's always windy (50+km/h) and it's always icy! I would suggest, if you're in the area, to go to Fernie: always a good time. If you're from Calgary especially, do not go as it is not worth the drive.
I have been to almost every ski hill in North America and I can assure you that on powder days it doesn't get any better than Castle Mountain Resort. The Huckleberry chair has added a more family / beginner terrain so it is good for the whole crew. All they need now is an updated ticket delivery system or more windows / electronic machines and they will make everyone smile.
Robert Scott, you are clearly not much of a skier or boarder, this place is epic and when there is pow pow it's a 1000 times better them Nakiska on it's good day, if you can't handle the steeps, stay out of our playground and stick to the little Nakiska hill, less people at Castle the better, just lets us pro's eat up more of the good stuff.
Great community at the base of the hill (Castle Mountain Resort) and really friendly. I forgot my ski pants and a lady went home and found her second pair and lent them to me. I returned them at the end of the day. Fun Terrain. Friendly staff.
